We could group them together with related articles and call it Journal of Exciting Discoveries.

Hmmm... but we can’t just accept articles; they’ll need a quality check by experts. Could you manage that?

Charlie: But who will produce the articles?

Prof: Produce?

R Asst: We need someone to organize the papers,

check for consistency,

insert illustrations . . .

Prof: A typesetter. Can you get us a typesetter and a printer?

Wait! No printer. We'll publish the articles online to cut costs!!!

R Asst: But there are so many articles on the internet. How will a scholar find it ?

Prof: (doubtful) Search engines? Yes. Hmmm... We need the articles to be found on the web, and on our site. And then … libraries use these discovery services. . . .

R Asst: (exasperated) And preservation! You’ll need to archive the articles somewhere if something happens to our site.

R Asst: (disappointed) And how will we know if the articles have been read?

Prof: The papers will be cited! (doubtful) But you’re right – we will need to measure the article downloads and citations to evaluate quality.

R Asst: AND when we will have time to do our research!? ???
